I've always loved making things myself. I'm a self-proclaimed DIY queen - hair, nails, clothes, and pretty much anything my heart desires. And lately my heart has been set on sculpting weird, wearable ceramic pieces that might not be everyone's cup of tea. Which is kind of the point.

I love fashion and design, and I'm drawn to things that are a little unusual, a little unexpected, and full of character. Grafkap first came to life as an idea in 2024, originally imagined as a clothing brand. I'm not ruling that out for the future, but for now, Grafkap is a small, ever-growing collection of handmade wearable art. Think of it as a tiny, slightly strange museum where everything is made to be worn.

Grafkap is a little world created by me, Ieva (pronounced yeah-va), a very common Lithuanian name. I come from Lithuania, a small country in Northern Europe that I'm proud to call home. These days, though, I've found a second home in Rome, Italy, where I continue to find inspiration for the things I create.

My love for making things started when I was little, watching YouTube polymer clay tutorials and baking tiny clay cupcakes in the oven. Somewhere along the way, I left the hobby behind during my teenage years, only to find my way back to sculpting in my mid-twenties.

ABOUT ME & GRAFKAP

SOOO, WHAT'S WITH THE NAME?

Grafkap is Graf Kap - a combination inspired by the carp and the garfish. I'm not particularly passionate about fish, ironically enough, but the name has a story behind it.

When I first imagined Grafkap, I wanted to dedicate part of the proceeds to marine conservation foundations, and fish became part of the brand's identity. I've also always liked the word Graf for its old-English, slightly posh, almost aristocratic feel. Put the two together, and Grafkap was born.

Outside of making things, I'm a big film lover (I've watched over 1,600 movies, and counting), a frequent vintage store explorer, a dog lover, and someone who will never say no to a good laugh. I love nature, a little silliness, and people who are up for just about anything. I try not to take life too seriously, and I think that attitude finds its way into the things I make too.

A NOTE ON MAKING THINGS

Design is also part of my professional life, so creating things by hand means a lot to me. I value tangible objects, human creativity, and the little imperfections that make something feel real.

To be transparent, the original Grafkap logo was created with the help of AI while I was experimenting with ideas back when the technology was first emerging. I liked the result, but as the brand developed, I decided I wanted its creative identity to be shaped by my own hands and ideas. The rest of Grafkap's visual identity, details, and quirks have been developed by me.

Today, I want Grafkap to stand for creativity, originality, and humanity. I'm much more interested in making something real, imperfect, and entirely its own than chasing perfection. AI isn't part of the creative process I want to build this brand around.

I hope you'll find something here that makes you smile or raise an eyebrow, and if one of my little creatures finds its way into your home or wardrobe, I hope it brings you joy. Above are a few little glimpses into my world - the places I love, the things that inspire me, and the bits and pieces of everyday life that make Grafkap what it is.

With lots of silliness and a little bit of clay under my fingernails,

- Ieva
